'Shocking' New Study Suggests Breast Cancer Sometimes Cures Itself | MedHeadlines

'Shocking' New Study Suggests Breast Cancer Sometimes Cures Itself | MedHeadlines:

"Medical history is dotted with stories of cancers vanishing without a trace and without any treatment, either. Once considered medical oddities, a new study suggests more cancers go away without treatment than would be expected. The theory, however, is quite difficult to prove conclusively because almost every cancer detected is treated aggressively, leaving no opportunity to explore spontaneous regressions.

Leading the study were Dr. Jan Maehlen, of the Ulleval University Hospital, Oslo, Norway; Dr. H. Gilbert Welch, of the Dartmouth Medical School in Vermont; and Dr. Per-Henrik Zahl, of Norway’s Institute of Public Health. The research team compared mammogram records of women, all between 50 and 64 years old, for the six-year period from 1992 till 1997 and from 1996 till 2001. Norway first started using mammography in 1996."

Raspberry

Medical tests released January 7, 1999 show that the red raspberry is one of the most effective all-natural ways to fight certain forms of cancer.

The Hollings Cancer instititute at the University of South Carolina is doing a double blind study on a large group of 500 cervical cancer patients that has everyone excited. They are excited because their past nine years of study have shown that a natural product called ellagic acid is causing G-arrest within 48 hours (inhibiting and stopping mitosis-cancer cell division), and apoptosis (normal cell death) within 72 hours, for breast, pancreas, esophageal, skin, colon and prostate cancer cells.

A cup of black raspberries a day may help keep esophageal cancer at bay.
Researchers found evidence in rats that black raspberries may both prevent the onset of esophageal cancer as well as inhibit precancerous growth already underway.

It may seem improbable, but one of the best allies against sunburn and skin cancer could be growing in your own back yard.

Cancer Killer: Cupuacu

Cupuaçu (Theobroma grandiflorum), also spelled Cupuassu and Copoasu, is a tropical rain forest tree related to Cacao. Common throughout the Amazon basin, it is widely cultivated in the north of Brazil, with the largest production in Pará, followed by Amazonas, Rondônia and Acre.

Cupuaçu trees usually range from 5 to 15 meters (16 to 50 feet) in height, though some can reach 20 meters (65 feet). They have brown bark. Their leaves are 25–35 cm (10–14 in) long and 6–10 cm (2–4 in) across, with 9 or 10 pairs of veins. As they mature, their leaves change from pink-tinted to green, and eventually they begin bearing fruit. Cupuaçu fruits are oblong, brown, and fuzzy, 20 cm (8 in) long, 1–2 kg (2–4 lb) in weight, and covered with a thick (4–7 mm), hard exocarp.

The white pulp of the cupuaçu is uniquely fragrant, and it contains theacrine (1,3,7,9-tetramethyluric acid) instead of the xanthines (caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline) found in cacao.[1] It is frequently used in desserts, juices and sweets.

The wood is also commonly used for timber.

Cupuaçu supports a phylogenetically intriguing butterfly herbivore the "lagarta verde" Macrosoma tipulata (Hedylidae) which can be a serious defoliator

Yet, everyday brings new findings of other advantages of theograndins that are unique to Cupuacu
